Oxford Networks Signs Agreement to Invest $5 Million in Resilient Tier-V Corporation
The Oxford Networks and Resilient Tier-V partnership will provide secure network and data center services as part of one of the largest technology investments ever in Maine
LEWISTON, Maine, Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Oxford Networks and Resilient Tier-V Corporation today announced the creation of a technology partnership, which will offer secure network and data center services with robust data transmission capabilities to businesses and government. As part of a $5 Million investment, the partnership will leverage both Oxford Networks' and Resilient Communications' assets to create a highly competitive data transmission, secure data storage and secure network management facility.
Oxford Networks' President and CEO, Craig Gunderson said the investment by Oxford Networks is a great opportunity for the company.
"Oxford Networks has been heavily investing in its fiber optic infrastructure for over a decade. This partnership with Resilient Tier-V gives us the opportunity to leverage that network and to offer data management and cyber security services that are critical to businesses both here in Maine and elsewhere. Resilient offers one of the most secure data storage sites in the United States and we are excited about what this can mean for our clients and the state," said Gunderson.
The $5 million dollar investment marks another critical step in the development and growth of Resilient Tier-V located at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station. The secure data center is headquartered in a hardened former national security facility, which most recently protected highly secure military data and communication systems.
"Oxford Networks resources, from a technical, financial and management perspective, provide key opportunities for Resilient's growth," said Charles Largay, President of Resilient Tier-V. "Resilient is operating out of a facility at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station that already provides extremely high levels of security for our customers. This investment will accelerate our ability to provide additional levels of reliability and redundancy that, until now, have been unattainable in most commercial data centers."
According to Matt Jancovic, Director of Marketing and Customer Service for Oxford Networks, business customers can expect a complete suite of data management services.
"The Oxford Networks/Resilient Tier-V partnership offers the best of all worlds when it comes to telecommunications services. The new partnership will offer redundant multi-gigabit fiber optic connectivity to Boston and beyond, coupled with the best in class data center services. Some of the services offered will include: secure virtualized servers, managed services, secure data storage, disaster recovery services, and scalable, state-of-the-art network connectivity. These new services will translate into increased options for customers at a reasonable price," said Jancovic.
