Pacific Office Automation Helps Company Save on Printer Ink
Doug Pitassi of Pacific Office Automation informed Stately that a number of printers use ink for maintenance purposes, meaning that ink was being used even when the printer wasn't.
BEAVERTON, Ore., Jan. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- After consulting with his office manager, Mike Stately was shocked. While going over the office supply costs for the previous quarter, Stately realized that one of the biggest office expenditures was printer ink. Not only that, but Stately's company did not print that many documents. That is when he called Pacific Office Automation.

"I was concerned about the amount of money we were spending on ink. We print our fair share of documents, but not nearly enough to warrant what we were spending. We had to find a new way to do business," said Stately. "When I contacted Pacific Office Automation, the information they shared with me was very revealing."
Doug Pitassi of Pacific Office Automation informed Stately that a number of printers use ink for maintenance purposes, meaning that ink was being used even when the printer wasn't. "There had been an investigation done by Consumer Reports that showed how inefficient most ink brands are," said Pitassi. "So when Mike Stately called, we let him know this information and made some suggestions as to how to alleviate his concerns."
Stately then invested in a multi-function printing device, or MFP. The MFP features a number of tools that help save on the cost of printer ink. Additionally, the MFP can also provide data on who is printing and how much, thereby helping to further manage the costs associated with printing. Finally, the MFP can also serve as a database of information, eliminating the need to print documents altogether, as they can be shared via the network database.
"It has been incredibly helpful. Our printing costs are down, and we are spending so much less on ink," said Stately. "It is much more efficient than anything else we have used in the past. Our employees save time and unnecessary effort, and we save on costs. It's a win-win for everyone involved."
