Former Employee Charged with Computer Crimes Act Violation
OKLAHOMA CITY, July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Packers Plus Energy Services (USA) Inc., along with its legal counsel King & Spalding, have won a legal victory regarding the theft of its intellectual property against Isaac Bruce Broussard, a former employee of our Oklahoma City office. The Oklahoma County Court has sentenced Mr. Broussard to a ten-year suspended sentence, with the first 30 days in jail, and full restitution of $274,061.92.

"As part of his job, Mr. Broussard had access to confidential information and signed an agreement obligating him to return it if he stopped working for Packers Plus."
In May 2013, while still working for Packers Plus, Mr. Broussard accepted a job offer from a competitor. After accepting the job, but before leaving the company, Mr. Broussard copied confidential information and took deliberate steps to conceal the theft of information, which included trade secrets.
Mr. Broussard was sentenced and jailed on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. We believe this demonstrates that intellectual property is just as valuable as tangible property and that the court takes these matters very seriously. This is a significant victory for Packers Plus and all companies who spend countless hours and dollars creating and developing technology.
