Paleteria La Michoacana Transitions Rocky Mountain area Distribution

MODESTO, Calif., Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Paleteria La Michoacana ("PLM"), the Modesto, California based manufacturer of Hispanic ice cream treats, announced finalizing the transition of its distribution to independent distributors in the Rocky Mountain region and parts of Texas. PLM signed long term agreements with leading independent distributors of frozen food and ice cream – Frosty Freeze (Colorado), Creamland Dairy  (New Mexico), Price's Creamery (West Texas – El Paso), Gandy's Dairies (West Texas – Lubbock) and Affiliated Foods, Inc., who covers a 10 state area servicing over 1,000 independent supermarkets.

According to President, Ignacio Gutierrez, "We experienced a lot of growth in the last three years throughout the Rocky Mountain region and Texas. This is the next natural step for us.  We want to provide more points of sales and better service levels to our customers as we continue to grow away from our core California market." Gutierrez continues by stating, "We are well poised to grow when we decided to bring in new capital in 2011 to finance our growth by becoming more efficient in our plant, expand our distribution and build our service platform."
