Palisade Systems Reports Strong Demand in Mid-Size Enterprises for Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
Mid-Market DLP leader reports strong momentum in healthcare and financial services, expands sales and channel teams, and adds marketing executive
DES MOINES, Iowa, June 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The market for data loss prevention (DLP) solutions is growing, and Palisade Systems reported today that it is capturing share in the mid-market. In addition, Palisade announced today the addition of a veteran Silicon Valley marketing executive, Michael Lough, as the new vice president of marketing.
Just four months after taking the helm of Palisade as CEO, Spencer Snedecor - a data security leader who was co-founder of PGP, a leading data security firm, and also CEO of Covelight, a fraud detection and data security provider- reports the company's growing momentum is due in large part to its focus on mid market enterprises.
"Palisade is delivering DLP solutions for mid-sized businesses that deliver all the functionality of larger enterprise solutions, but at a cost nearly half of similar solutions," said Snedecor. "Mid market enterprises compelling need is to protect their business and their customers' personal data by taking action before issues arise."
Mid-sized healthcare and financial service businesses are feeling the pressure from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) to protect and secure personal identifiable information (PII) and personal health information (PHI). HIPAA audits and their associated fines are continuing to rise.
Sales on Target and Partnerships Growing
According to a study published by the Radicati Group, the market for DLP software will grow an average of 25 percent per year over the next four years. Palisade's sales for the first quarter of 2011 were on target for the growth path set by Snedecor. The company has also brought on a new sales leader, Doug Cumming, who has built his inside sales team to work with channel partners.
New Marketing Leadership
"By adding Michael Lough to our team we will be able to drive the awareness of our solution into our key markets. His leadership and marketing expertise will be a huge boost to our growth," said Snedecor.
Lough has been marketing for high-tech software companies since he joined Hewlett-Packard in 1980, then he began marketing for start-ups, such as Remedy Corporation, Active Software, Acta Technology, and Borland. He also spent two years as CEO of LiveWire Logic.
"As a consultant to Palisade, I realized the potential for growth the company possesses," Lough explained. "I'm excited to be part of Palisade and look forward to delivering business critical solutions to the healthcare and financial services market."
Palisade Webinar Series Delivering DLP Insight
Palisade recently sponsored two webinars with customers highlighting their need to meet regulatory compliance measures. Lutheran Life Ministries, a healthcare provider, and Bank Mutual, a mid-sized community bank, presented their approach to protecting sensitive data with Palisade's DLP solutions.
Palisade is offering a new DLP educational webinar on June 23, 2011 featuring two HIPAA Compliance experts, Ali Pabrai, CEO of ecfirst, and Katie Cownie, an Attorney with Brown Winick, where she focuses on HIPAA and other compliance regulations.
