PEARL RIVER, N.Y., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Palisades Federal Credit Union, the largest Rockland County based Credit Union, celebrated the grand opening of its new mobile branch, PFCU One. Festivities were held on Thursday morning at Thorpe Village, a federally subsidized housing community for the elderly and handicapped located in Sparkill, NY.

The new, 38-foot full service mobile branch served as the back drop for the festivities that began with Rockland County Executive, Mr. C. Scott Vanderhoef, addressing the residents. He stressed the importance of community organizations coming together to help those in need and commended Palisades Federal Credit Union on their efforts to bring affordable banking solutions to underserved areas. Other community leaders, such as Paul Whalen, Town of Orangetown Supervisor, spoke with the Thorpe Village residents and helped cut the memorial ribbon.

"We are so grateful for the warm welcome the new mobile branch has received throughout the County, and we are honored to help bring affordable loans and economical banking services to the Thorpe Village residents," explained Mark Welshoff, President & CEO of Palisades Federal Credit Union. "I'd like to personally thank Messrs. Vanderhoef and Whalen for their support in helping our local community, and we look forward to continuing to deliver a better banking alternative to anyone who lives, works, worships or studies in Rockland County."

In addition to Thorpe Village, PFCU One has stops throughout Rockland County through partnerships with the Village of Spring Valley, Dowling Gardens Senior Living Community and the Chestnut Ridge Transportation group.
