Palos Community Hospital Named Among Nation's Top 5% by HealthGrades

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Palos Community Hospital has received the 2010 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from HealthGrades. This prestigious honor from the nation's leading independent health care ratings organization places Palos in the top five percent of hospitals based on clinical excellence. Palos is one of 269 hospitals in the country to receive this award. It is the fifth consecutive year Palos has been a recipient.

Palos Community Hospital also received HealthGrades' Patient Safety Excellence Award for the sixth year in a row. This award ranks Palos among the top 238 hospitals in the country for patient safety. Combined, these distinctions place Palos in an elite group of only 20 hospitals in the country, and the only hospital in Illinois, to receive both the Patient Safety Excellence Award and the Distinguished Hospital Award for overall Clinical Excellence five years in a row.
