PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur Announces Six Bartender Finalists of the Second Annual "Are You Indispensable?" Cocktail Competition from 126 Submitted Recipes
Recipes Demonstrate PAMA's Role as the "Indispensable Modifier" in Cocktails of Every Style for Every Occasion
NEW YORK, Feb. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur, the original, all-natural pomegranate liqueur, today announces the six finalists of the second annual "Are You Indispensable?" Cocktail Competition. The competition garnered 126 cocktail recipes from professional bartenders and mixologists from more than 37 cities across the U.S. with base spirits ranging from whiskey to Pisco, tequila to Cognac, as well as wine and beer.
The recipes, which were compiled by competition partner ShakeStir.com, a leading online community for bartenders, demonstrate PAMA's role as the "indispensable modifier" that provides a delicately balanced sweet-tart flavor, silky texture and a vibrant ruby-red color to cocktails of every style for every occasion.
The six finalists, in first-name alphabetical order, are as follows: Aaron Butler (The JakeWalk, Brooklyn, N.Y.), Brett Esler (Whisler's, Austin, Texas), Davey Jones (Burger Republic, Nashville, Tenn.), David Bonatesta (Ward III, New York), Lacy Hawkins (Clover Club, Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Sam Treadway (Backbar, Somerville, Mass.).
The final competition will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Seamstress in New York. A Grand Prize of $5,000, a Second Place Prize of $2,000 and a Third Place Prize of $1,000 will be awarded.
Leading luminaries of the spirits and mixology world will serve on the judging panel, including:
- Julie Reiner – Doyenne of cocktails and owner of Flatiron Lounge and Clover Club
- Kate Shapira Latts – Vice President of Marketing and a member of the third generation of the family behind Heaven Hill Brands, the parent company of PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
- Paul Pacult – Noted spirits critic and publisher/editor of The Spirit Journal
- Steve Olson – Founder of aka wine geek and renowned spirits, wine and cocktail expert
