Panoply Media's New Fictional Podcast Series "The Walk" Makes the Listener the Protagonist in This Action Thriller
The story has been adapted from UK-based Six to Start and author Naomi Alderman's popular fitness app by the same name
NEW YORK, Jan. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Panoply Media today released its latest fictional podcast, The Walk, a thriller in which the listener plays an active, first-person role as the story's main character, Walker. The show is designed to be played while walking, making you feel physically involved as you experience the action-packed podcast, but can also be enjoyed wherever you listen to on-demand audio.
The story begins in Inverness station, Scotland. Through a case of mistaken identity, "Walker" is given a vital package that could save the world. It must be couriered to Edinburgh, but all of the roads are closed to cars and the trains aren't working due to an explosion. To survive, the listener must walk with other escapees from the city, not knowing if they can trust those around them in a rapidly disintegrating situation.
Over the course of 31 episodes, the listener is encouraged to go outside or get on a treadmill and walk as the protagonist. Within each approximately 25-minute episode, the listener may walk on average 1-2 miles. The season was designed to be long enough for participants to establish healthy walking habits.
The Walk was developed by Six to Start and Naomi Alderman, creators of the best-selling mobile fitness game, Zombies, Run!, which has over 5 million players worldwide. It was funded by the UK's Department of Health and was originally created for the NHS as part of the Small Business Research Initiative competition.

Starting today, new episodes will be released every Tuesday and Thursday for the next four months.
