Panopto Reaches 400 Adoptions and 2.7 Million Students, Taking Pole Position Among Lecture Capture Vendors

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Panopto announced today that it had signed its 400th institutional license agreement since 2008 with North Carolina A&T State University, bringing its user count to more than 2.7 million students.  Over the last three years, Panopto has deployed more campus-wide adoptions than all other lecture capture vendors combined, with Red Herring magazine naming Panopto as one of the top 100 private companies in North America for its rapid growth and strong product vision.   "We're honored to have been selected by so many institutions in such a short period of time," said Bill Guttman, Executive Chairman of Panopto.  "Our beginnings at Carnegie Mellon University gave us firsthand insight into what professors, students, and administrators look for in a lecture capture solution, and our early focus on flexible capture and user experience set the stage for the rapid growth we're seeing today."
