SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- "Tennessee artist, Vicki Sawyer has the notion that since birds can build nests, they might be able to make hats! (Last time I checked sheep couldn't do either, but who am I to assume?) These dishwasher – and microwave – safe new bone china plates will add a touch of whimsy to your appetizers and desserts." – Oprah Winfrey, O, The Oprah Magazine
PPD is honored to announce their inclusion in 'Oprah's Favorite Things' list for 2015. Selected among PPD's wide range of home entertaining & home décor products is the enchanting 'Wild & Wooly' appetizer plate set, art by Tennessee artist Vicki Sawyer.
Since their beginning in 1994, PPD has become the leading supplier of tabletop goods and home décor products to thousands of upscale retailers in the US and Canada. Rather than work with in-house artists, PPD collaborates with independent artists from around the world, which they attribute for keeping their designs fresh, unique, and ahead of trend. Vicki Sawyer and PPD worked together closely to bring this enchanting collection of plates, mugs, napkins, matches & kitchen towels to market.
As seen in the plates chosen by Oprah, Vicki Sawyers' fun-loving personality and enthusiasm for life is evident in her whimsical paintings. When asked about her inspiration, Vicki described a nature walk several years ago where it occurred to her that if "birds could build nests, then they could make hats." This inspired her bird paintings, and the series soon expanded to include other creatures and concepts. PPD is honored to work with Vicki Sawyer and is currently in production for a new spring release available February 2016. Currently all PPD products can be purchased at their new online store www.paperproductsdesign.com.
