Paragon Theaters to Operate the Newly Renovated Deerfield 8 Cinema

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., May 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida-based Paragon Theaters is the new operator and owner of the former Sunrise Cinema in Deerfield Beach, FL, now the Paragon Deerfield 8.  Paragon plans to bring its expertise and renowned customer service to this newly renovated location and to provide additional amenities over the next few months.

Founded by the former executive management team of Muvico, Paragon Theaters was established in 2009 to create unique entertainment venues that are a step above traditional movie theaters in comfort, technology, and amenities while still retaining a competitive price point. "We've always viewed the Deerfield market as an important target for a full featured cinema," explains Mike Wilson, president of Paragon and long time area resident. "This location fits our vision of bringing the best technology and amenities without a 'premium' price tag; to create Affordable Luxury," he concludes.

Located in the Deerfield Mall at the prominent corner of Powerline and Hillsboro Blvd, the Paragon Deerfield 8 is centrally positioned to the communities of Deerfield Beach, Coconut Creek, Parkland, Coral Springs, and Boca Raton.  The Paragon Deerfield 8 currently features stadium seating, VIP leather seats, expanded concession menu offerings, and a bar and lounge offering craft beers and an extensive wine selection. In addition, Paragon plans to expand the features of this location by adding additional VIP reserved seating in all auditoriums, installing HD digital projection technology, and renovating the lobby, lounge and exterior features. The theater will remain open during renovations, and all of the existing amenities will be available. "Our goal is to strike a balance between the latest amenities and a cozy neighborhood feel, while offering excellent value," adds Partner Hank Lightstone, also a long time resident of the area.

Paragon will offer the following "value" programs to its patrons:  $5 Matinees Monday to Thursday (first show of the day); $5 Senior Day every Tuesday; $5 children's admission all day Wednesday; Ladies Night Thursdays with all beverages half price; Free Popcorn for seniors with a purchase of any beverage for weekday matinees; and coming soon, the introduction of Paragon's summer charity movie program as well as a loyalty rewards program which will enable patrons to earn points towards free movies, popcorn, and more.

An update in technology will be an important element of the facility improvements.  All auditoriums will be outfitted with Sony 4K digital projection providing 4x the resolution of any other digital projector available.  Sony 4K projection enables viewers to sit close to the screen and be completely immersed in a vibrant and incredibly detailed picture.

More recently, Paragon acquired two locations in Minnesota. The first, the Paragon Odyssey 15, is located in Burnsville-greater Minneapolis market.  The theater, now open, has undergone major upgrades including the recent finalization of a 70-foot Pepsi Max giant screen as well as the installation of all-digital Sony 4K projections. Shortly, new amenities will include a VIP Premiere 21-and over seating, and the activation of a large restaurant.  

The second Minnesota location, the Paragon Chateau 14 is located in Rochester, home of the world famous Mayo-Clinic. Paragon upgraded the facility by installing all-digital Sony 4K projection, undergoing extensive interior renovations, and adding a full feature bar-lounge.
