Paralyzed Veterans Launches Wall of Heroes Website to Honor Veterans and Military
WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Paralyzed Veterans of America (Paralyzed Veterans) has launched a new website where those wishing to honor active duty military and veterans, from all branches, can post written and/or photo tributes honoring their individual hero's service.
The Wall of Heroes website, located at http://heroes.supportvets.org/, encourages visitors to tell the story of their hero and document the memories of that person's time in the service. Visitors are encouraged to write about, and post a picture of their hero, as well as read other's stories of heroism and bravery.
"As part of our "Big Salute" to veterans on Veterans Day, our goal is to have 10,000 tributes posted by November 11," said Gene A. Crayton, national president of Paralyzed Veterans of America. "It's important that we let the men and women who are serving or have served know that we recognize and appreciate their service and sacrifice."
Also featured on the new website is a special song, Here's to the Troops, which was written, performed and generously donated to Paralyzed Veterans by loyal friend and supporter, Elliot Grossbach.
To post your tribute to a veteran or active duty military member, please visit the Wall of Heroes website at http://heroes.supportvets.org/.
Sixty-four years ago Paralyzed Veterans of America was founded by a band of spinal cord injured service members who returned home from World War II to a grateful nation -- but also to a world with few solutions to the challenges they faced. These veterans from the "Greatest Generation" made a decision not just to live, but to live with dignity as contributors to society. They created an organization dedicated to veterans service, medical research and civil rights for people with disabilities. And for more than six decades, Paralyzed Veterans of America and its 34 chapters have been working to create an America where all veterans and people with disabilities, and their families, have everything they need to thrive.
