They call it "100 deadliest days" - the study found that on average 1,022 people died in accidents involving teenage drivers during the 100 days after Memorial Day.

The main reason for such an increase is because more teenagers are driving on the roads during the summer; they are traveling with friends, and having passengers in the car causes distractions.

Below is the list of distractions that are the cause of 60% of the car crashes involving teenage drivers:

The study found that having passengers in the car and the teen being preoccupied attending the other passengers carry the highest percentage of the car accident risks. Teens tend to be much more distracted and are more likely to conduct in risky behaviors when they have passengers.
