WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J., Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ParkeBank, headquartered in Sewell, Gloucester County, New Jersey, has recently donated a Mobile Home to the South Jersey Vietnam Veterans Association (SJVVA) located in Glassboro, New Jersey.
ParkeBank appreciates and recognizes the supreme sacrifices that Veterans have made to our Country and the need to continue to support them as a way of demonstrating our thanks. "We have spoken at length with the South Jersey Vietnam Veterans Association regarding our donation and they have identified a Veteran who is in desperate need of housing and they will be helping this individual make this a permanent home," said Danny Sulpizio, Senior Vice President of ParkeBank.
The purpose of the Association is to provide encouragement and support to Vietnam Veterans. To assist the Veteran in obtaining available benefits, educate the Veteran and members of the community about the Vietnam Conflict and the place of the Vietnam Veteran in the community. To provide, as well as participate in charitable endeavors for all Veterans and their families.
Sulpizio said, "It was a fitting opportunity to give back to the community and support our Veterans, especially considering some recent news stories I have read that highlighted the struggles of many veterans. Our lives get very busy and unfortunately many of us forget that our freedom does come at a cost to others." As part of ParkeBank's ongoing commitment to Veterans, each year around the holidays we have been providing food baskets and gift cards to Veterans in need and every year our program keeps growing. We have transferred ownership of the unit to the SJVVA and they are firming up the details with the mobile home park where it will be permanently placed. A brief ceremony to recognize this event will be held on Wednesday January 29, 2014 at 8:30 am in the VFW hall located at 275 Wilmer Street in Glassboro, New Jersey.
"We are a community bank, that's who we are. We genuinely care about the communities we serve and are always looking for a way to give back. Our employees are very active in many organizations and we support local events. We want the individual that moves into this home to feel safe and comfortable, be an active member of the community and to know that our Veterans are not forgotten," said Sulpizio.
