DALLAS, Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Parks Associates announced new connected health research today showing only 28% of consumers in U.S. broadband households are comfortable selecting a health monitoring device on their own. Among the 58% of consumers with at least one chronic condition, only 29% are comfortable selecting a health monitoring device.
Health Tracker: Effective Engagement through Segmentation & Personalization also reports more consumers now feel they need the help of others to improve their health, compared to 2015 and 2016. The research reveals consumer concerns and behaviors regarding their health and highlights how healthcare device makers and service providers can engage specific consumer segments with innovative health solutions.
"Healthcare trails other industries in consumer marketing, and in many cases, the trends are going in the opposite direction desired—for example, consumer confidence in choosing a health monitoring device has been trending downward since 2015," said Kristen Hanich, Research Analyst, Parks Associates. "But, consumers are also more willing to accept help with their healthcare decisions, so care providers, which are under tremendous pressure to forge more consumer-centric approaches, can expand their engagement efforts through smartphones, apps, and connected health devices."
