Partnership for Science and Technology Announces Retirement of Executive Director Lane Allgood

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lane Allgood, who has served as Executive Director of the Partnership for Science and Technology (PST) since its founding in 2006, announced his retirement at the group's board of directors meeting April 9. During Allgood's tenure, the PST grew in membership and became the region's primary energy education and advocacy organization. 

PST President Mike Hart said, "Lane has been an invaluable asset to the PST and the community.  With Lane's hard work and dedication, the organization has significantly grown its membership and gained notable influence on many state and federal energy policy issues.  Lane has been instrumental in the PST's continuing relationship with decision-makers in Boise and Washington, D.C., and has kept the organization actively engaged in the community through organized events such as our Energy Advocate Awards and Up n' Atom Breakfasts."

In announcing his retirement, Mr. Allgood told the board, "Serving as the organization's Executive Director has been one of the most fulfilling periods of my professional career." Allgood plans to move to Boise mid-summer to be closer to family. He will continue to remain active on PST issues.

Upon Allgood's notification, the PST Board initiated a search to identify qualified candidates to fill this position. A search committee has been established and will make a quick selection to allow transition time for a new executive director without significant interruption to currently ongoing PST initiatives. 

"While the PST is certainly sorry to see Lane leave, we will ensure that the organization uses this time as an opportunity to further improve its influence and effectiveness," said Hart. "To that end, we will be considering changes that could strengthen the organization and expand our regional influence."
