Patchington's Semi Annual Trade in Event Supporting Victims of Domestic Violence

CLEARWATER, Fla., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning Tuesday, February 23rd through Monday, March 1st, Patchington a women's boutique, will be holding their Eleventh Semi Annual Trade-In Event to support women who have been victims of domestic violence.  Domestic violence does not discriminate, it happens to all types of women regardless of income, age, race, education or belief.  It is estimated that a woman is beaten every 15 seconds in the United States; anywhere from 1-3 million women are battered each year by their intimate partner and 4 women die each day as a result of domestic abuse.  

During this event, customers "trading-in" gently used clothing will receive an allowance on comparable articles of clothing.  How does the "Trade-In Event" work?  For every top "traded-in" the customer will receive $10 off the purchase of a new top; for every bottom $15 off the purchase of a new bottom; and for every jacket or dress $20 off the purchase of a new jacket or dress.  Over the last ten years more than 60,000+ articles of clothing have been donated.

All "traded-in" items are then donated to local community organizations that distribute them to their thrift shops where customers can purchase quality clothing at less than a fraction of the price.  The proceeds from the thrift shops fund programs which provide refuge, crises intervention, advocacy, professional training and community outreach to break the silence that isolates victims and prevents them from a life of hope, independence and peace.
