Patricia Blagojevich and Richard Roberts Resolve Defamation Action Filed by the Former First Lady
Litigation brought against Chicago Christian Industrial League Director Comes to an End
CHICAGO, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Illinois first lady Patricia Blagojevich has agreed to dismiss her lawsuit against former director of the Chicago Christian Industrial League, Richard Roberts, pursuant to a confidential settlement agreement. On October 1, 2009, Blagojevich filed suit against Roberts in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois alleging defamation. Roberts has at all times denied any wrongdoing. The specific terms of the settlement are confidential.
Blagojevich was represented in the lawsuit by attorneys Jay Edelson, Rafey S. Balabanian and Sarah E. Davenport of Edelson McGuire, LLC. Roberts was represented by attorneys James A. Klenk and Tiffany L. Wohlfeil of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP.
