Pelion Sunrise Names Michael Lawrence President And COO - Indoor Snow Entertainment Destination

SUNRISE, Fla., Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Pelion, a premier indoor entertainment destination to be located adjacent to Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise, Florida - and featuring the largest indoor ski trails in the world, has named Michael Lawrence as President and COO.  In this role, Mr. Lawrence will manage the growth and strategic development of Pelion while meeting all operational and financial performance goals. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Mr. Lawrence joins Pelion with a background in hospitality operations and development management expertise for premier hotels, destination resorts and private clubs at the corporate and property-level.

Previously, Mr. Lawrence served a critical role in the training and development of executive and management talent for the upscale hospitality properties owned and managed by ClubCorp, Interstate Hotels & Resorts, The Boca Raton Resort & Club, and Boca Resorts.  In his senior management roles, he was responsible for all aspects of corporate organizational development and human resources management, specializing in programs that prepared the entire chain-of-command for internal and external growth through mergers and acquisitions.  With Boca Resorts, Mr. Lawrence was responsible for the operations of Boca Resorts Premier Club Program, which offered exclusive membership services within the private clubs of Boca Resorts properties.  He has served as general manager for full-service independent and nationally branded hotels in Washington, DC and Long Island; and also served as GM/COO for the world famous Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, and the beautiful Berkeley Hall Club near Hilton Head.
