Pelmorex Media Inc. appoints new managing director to El Tiempo Previsto, S.L.U., Spain's leading digital weather information service

OAKVILLE, ON, March 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Pelmorex Media Inc., parent company of The Weather Network, MétéoMédia and Travelers Network, announced today the appointment of Susana Rodriguez Urgel to the position of Managing Director for its Spanish operations, El Tiempo Previsto, S.L.U. Rodriguez Urgel brings 17 years of experience as a results-oriented leader to the recently acquired company, Spain's leading multi-platform weather information provider.

Based in Madrid, El Tiempo meets the weather information needs of the Spanish population through its leading digital services, which continue to be ranked as the highest consumer weather sources by ComScore. The success of its website, eltiempo.es, launched in 2008, led to the development of popular applications for mobile devices shortly thereafter.

She successfully developed large interactive businesses, such as Telefonica's digital Yellow Pages, and launched start-ups Keppunto.com, Rinpay.com and her own digital advertising agency, Capitan Aston. Most recently, she led the Internet, Mobile Entertainment and e-Commerce business units at Telefonica where she launched numerous products under the Moviestar brand.

Since acquiring El Tiempo in the second half of 2012, Pelmorex has been dedicated to growing the business and investing in the Spanish market, including active recruitment to grow the team at its Madrid headquarters.
