To support the commercial introduction of PenCare DP, Penford has developed a strategic commercial relationship with exclusive distributor Univar Inc., a leading global chemical distributor of industrial and specialty chemicals.
PenCare DP is a patent pending, naturally based cationic polymer with superior deposition and enhanced conditioning created to leave hair and skin smooth and soft. The formal launch of this ingredient will take place at the 69th annual Society of Cosmetic Chemists Scientific Meeting and Technology Showcase on Dec. 11-12, 2014, in New York City.
Penford Products will highlight PenCare DP as part of the Showcase's technical poster session, which serves as a forum for scientists and representatives of the personal care industry to present their most recent developments.
Throughout his presentation, titled "A New Biobased Deposition Polymer: A Comparative Performance Assessment versus Traditional Cationic Polymers," Dr. Nikola Nikolic, vice president and director of R&D, will provide comparative data and sensory evaluation of PenCare DP in prototype formulated products. Dr. Nikolic will address the polymer's rinse-off and leave-on applications, its advantages, formulator benefits and suggestions for use.
