Under the terms of the agreement, Penguin will leverage Dot Hill's award-winning AssuredSAN 3000 Series storage systems. Offering 8Gb Fibre Channel, 10Gb iSCSI and 6Gb SAS host interface options, the AssuredSAN 3000 Series is optimized for Linux environments and supports demanding workloads and solid performance with five 9's of availability, using many of Dot Hill's patented technologies.

With a focus on cutting-edge technology, ease-of-use and exceptional customer service, Penguin cost-effectively meets the needs of the world's most demanding HPC users, including Caterpillar, Lockheed Martin, the U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Navy.

Penguin delivers a range of solutions, from massive Linux clusters to cluster management solutions based on Penguin's Scyld ClusterWare, to "Penguin Computing on Demand" (POD), a new public HPC cloud. Typical configurations include Penguin branded servers, I/O nodes, 10GigE or InfiniBand fabric, racks, power delivery, storage subsystem and installation and professional services.

Penguin will offer the highest performing 3003 models primarily with SAS host interfaces, in 2u12 and 2u24 storage solutions with drives. The drives will encompass all drive types and spindle speeds (including SSD in some cases) depending on customer needs.
