STAMFORD, Conn., Dec. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Penton's The Special Event Show (TSE), the largest tradeshow and conference for event professionals, invites event planners to TSE 2016, which will take place January 11-14, 2016 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. TSE has been held annually since 1985 and brings together the best of the events industry from around the world.
TSE will feature more than 100 educational sessions in eight tracks, a wide range of training and workshops, special showcasing events, exhibits and a corporate social responsibility program. Back by popular demand is the Sales and Marketing conference track—and a new addition of the Design Gallery and Competition in the exhibit hall.
"The Special Event Show is the show for event planners," says Show Director Tara Melingonis. "We have a lot of new and exciting features at this year's event."
This year, the Convention Industry Council, which administers the Certified Meeting Professional designation, has named The Special Event a CMP Preferred Provider. Event professionals who attend the live sessions will receive continuing education credit toward their certification or recertification of the CMP.
TSE has partnered with Feeding Children Everywhere on the corporate social responsibility program "TSE's Giveback Hunger Project." Event professionals will volunteer to package hundreds of thousands of healthy meals for hungry children in Central Florida on Monday, Jan. 11 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
TSE will host nine Showcasing Events, providing attendees with a wealth of creative ideas to use for their own special events, including TSE Connects (Jan. 11), the Opening Night Party (Jan. 12), the Opening General Session (Jan. 13), the Wedding Event (Jan. 13), The Search Event at TSE (Jan. 13), Michael Cerbelli's: The Hot List: 2016TM (Jan. 14), the Leadership Lunch (Jan. 14), the Gala Awards (Jan. 14), and the Closing Night Celebration (Jan. 14).
On Jan. 11, TSE Connects will welcome event professionals to Orlando at the newly renovated "Club 39" at the Rosen Plaza. Attendees will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with their event colleagues.
On Jan. 12, TSE's conferences, workshops and training will begin. In the evening, attendees will arrive at "WOW," TSE's Opening Night Party, taking place at Cuba Libre Restaurant and RA Sushi at Pointe Orlando. Participating restaurants that will serve signature dishes includes: BB King's Blues Club, Café Tu Tu Tango, Copper Canyon Grill, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, La Fayette's, Itta Bena, Marlow's Tavern, Ra Sushi, Taverna Opa, The Pub and Tommy Bahamas.
On Jan. 13, TSE will begin with a keynote presentation from the fascination expert, Sally Hogshead, at the Opening General Session. Sally will explore the science of fascination and the brain's hardwired "triggers." Directly after, TSE will open the exhibit hall, which will include the TSE Live Theater, Sponsored Lounges, Design Gallery & Competition, and the Gala Boards. Two evening events await attendees. First, the very popular Wedding Event, which sold out last year, will provide attendees with an outside-the-box way to create a wedding extravaganza unlike any other. Event professionals will see firsthand what trends, colors, decor, and lighting will rock the 2016 wedding season. Second, attendees can support the SEARCH Foundation at its annual event for fun, networking and entertainment. The event raises funds to support the SEARCH Foundation in its mission to assist event professionals in crisis.
On Jan. 14, Michael Cerbelli's: The Hot List: 2016TM will take center stage, featuring a high-energy, fast-paced, jam-packed presentation of the hottest new ideas, products, and entertainment from around the globe. This will be followed by a full day of conferences, workshops, training, and exhibits. Additional events include the Leadership Lunch, an interactive think thank adventure where attendees will tap into the creative minds of industry leaders while viewing the dynamic Orlando skyline at the Orlando Eye, as well as the Gala Awards ceremony. The Gala Awards--the oldest and most prestigious award in special events—will honor outstanding work in special events worldwide. Concluding the evening, attendees will congratulate the Gala Award nominees at the Closing Night Celebration.
