People's United Financial, Inc. Elevates Two Senior Executives
Chantal Simon and Robert Trautmann Promoted to Senior Executive Vice President
BRIDGEPORT, Conn., July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- People's United Financial, Inc. (Nasdaq: PBCT) announced today that Chantal Simon and Robert Trautmann, both executive vice presidents and members of the company's Bank Management Committee, have been promoted to senior executive vice president.
Simon joined People's United Financial, Inc. in 2009 as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. She is responsible for the bank's overall risk management, including the credit, workout, internal audit, loan review and enterprise risk management functions.
Prior to joining People's United, Simon spent 20 years at Merrill Lynch & Co. Most recently, she was Chief Risk Officer of Merrill Lynch Bank USA (MLBUSA) and Head of Risk Management of the U.S. Regulated Bank Entities at Merrill Lynch. In this role, she oversaw the risk management of MLBUSA, Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust, FSB and Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust, Cayman Island. Prior to that role, she was a Managing Director in Investment Banking in High Yield Origination and she was Head of the Loan Portfolio Group.
A resident of Bronxville, New York, Simon holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Applied Mathematics from Brown University and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
Trautmann joined People's United in 1994 as Senior Counsel. He was appointed Executive Vice President and General Counsel of People's United in 2008. He is responsible for the direction of the bank's legal operation, legislative affairs, compliance, CRA, corporate governance and the corporate secretarial functions.
Prior to joining People's United, Trautmann was with the corporate, securities and banking groups of the New Haven, Connecticut law firm of Tyler Cooper and Alcorn. Previously, he was with the New York City law firms of Shea & Gould and Olwine, Connelly, Chase, O'Donnell and Weyher.
Trautmann holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. and a law degree from Washington University School of Law. He was editor-in-chief of the Washington University Law Review while in law school. An Old Lyme, Connecticut resident, Trautmann is a member of the Connecticut and New York bars.
