ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: POM) and a leader in energy savings performance contracting, has signed a Master Agreement with Energy Services of Pensacola, a natural gas provider that is owned and operated by the City of Pensacola, Florida.
Under the terms of the agreement, Pepco Energy will act as the implementer of utility energy service contract (UESC) projects for Energy Services of Pensacola at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Pensacola.
"Energy Services of Pensacola is happy to partner with Pepco Energy for energy performance contracting," said Dena Faessel, Business Development Manager of Energy Services of Pensacola. "I have worked with members of the Pepco Energy team for several years and appreciate their expertise in this area as well as their project management skills. Pepco Energy is a great addition to our team."
The three-year Master Agreement allows for "fast-track contracting." This allows Energy Services of Pensacola to issue multiple task orders without a cost ceiling and all terms and conditions to be negotiated up-front in lieu of issuing a contract for each project. The individual projects costs will be determined with the issuance of each task order.
"Pepco Energy is excited to work with Energy Services of Pensacola to implement energy-saving projects for the City of Pensacola," said John Huffman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pepco Energy. "We have a proven record of helping our customers reduce their energy demands, and we are confident we can do the same for the U.S. Naval Air Station in Pensacola."
