PermitUsNow Assists Kerrville Property Owners with Permitting After Devastating Floods
HOUSTON, July 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In the wake of the catastrophic floods that struck Kerrville and Kerr County on July 3, 2025, PermitUsNow, a leading construction permitting firm, is stepping up to guide homeowners and businesses through the critical permitting process required to rebuild.
With extensive experience securing permits for projects across Texas — from retail to residential to large-scale commercial — PermitUsNow is offering essential tips and resources for those beginning repairs and reconstruction in the flood-affected areas.
"Living along the Gulf Coast, we realize the impact that natural disasters have on homes and commercial properties, and we're providing permitting tips to assist those in returning to normal," said Helen Callier, Founder and CEO of PermitUsNow. "We know this is an emotional and challenging time, and we want to take some of the burden off property owners by helping them navigate the permitting process properly and quickly."
The late night of July 3rd rain and early morning July 4th flash floods inundated homes, businesses, and infrastructure throughout Kerrville and surrounding areas, leaving thousands in need of repairs. Many property owners are unaware that even after a disaster, proper permits are required — especially if structural damage has occurred, or if the property lies within a designated floodplain.
PermitUsNow has deep knowledge of the permitting requirements specific to the City of Kerrville and Kerr County, including floodplain development permits, building and trade permits, and FEMA-related elevation certificates. The firm works with licensed architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure all submitted plans meet local and state codes, helping property owners avoid costly delays and fines.
"Over the years, we have helped H-E-B and others pull permits for projects of all types and sizes in Kerrville and in the Hill Country," said Moruf Jimoh, Technical Manager at PermitUsNow. "We're here to help and know it's the right thing to do — with Texans helping Texans. Our team understands the urgency and wants to see businesses open and families back in their homes as soon as possible."
PermitUsNow recommends that property owners take the following steps immediately:
- Document all damage with photos and videos before beginning any repairs.
- Verify whether the property is in a floodplain and whether special permits or elevation certificates are needed.
- Hire licensed professionals to create structural drawings if necessary — these are required if structural elements are found to be damaged.
- Submit permit applications promptly to avoid backlogs, using the MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) portal for City of Kerrville permits, or contacting the Kerr County Engineer's office for floodplain permits.
- Schedule and pass required inspections as construction progresses to ensure compliance.
As a trusted partner to contractors, architects, and owners throughout Texas, PermitUsNow brings expertise and compassion to every project — particularly in times of crisis.
"Texans are resilient," added Callier. "We've seen communities come back stronger after hurricanes, floods, and other disasters. PermitUsNow is proud to do our part to help Kerrville rebuild."
