BOCA RATON, Fla., Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter Coppola, hair industry icon and founder of Peter Coppola Keratin Concepts (www.petercoppola.com) and the Keratin Revolution is proud to announce the company's sponsorship of Survivor Glam Squad (SGS) www.survivorglamsquad.org. This non-profit organization provides complete makeovers to women who have survived cancer in order for them to regain their sense of beauty, self-esteem, femininity and confidence. The women are selected from cities across the country and provided with complimentary services such as complete hair/wig styling, fashion tips, make up application, photo sessions, education and motivation. These inspiring makeover events also provide a comfortable occasion for family and friends to support and celebrate their loved one's road to recovery.
On October 26 & 27 2013, Peter Coppola Keratin Concept hosted the launch of a new youth program with SGS in New York for female cancer survivors between the ages of 18 to 30. This event provided makeovers for three (3) young cancer survivors. The youth programs key hairstylist and owner of Salon Karma, Danielle Keasling was on hand to provide both hair and makeup for these amazing young women from the New York area. Suleika Jaouad, a 25 year old, Leukemia survivor, New York Times "Well" section writer of Life, Interrupted and Emmy award winner, was among the women selected. According to Suleika, "Hair and makeup may seem like a trivial thing, especially in the face of cancer but looking good makes you feel so much better. I loved meeting Peter Coppola and hearing his empowerment speech along with his products and styling tips."
In continued support of the partnership, Peter Coppola Keratin Concept will fund and host additional Peter Coppola Survivor Glam Squad events per month for all women cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers through salons that carry the Peter Coppola Keratin Concept brand. Peter Coppola Keratin Concept will also donate all products for these styling experiences, provide Peter Coppola trained stylists for any Peter Coppola Keratin Treatments and donate a portion of the sales proceeds during the events promotional period to SGS. To provide on-going support from coast-to-coast for all ages, Peter Coppola Keratin Concept distributors and salons will be offered the opportunity to also host their own Peter Coppola Survivor Glam Squad events at their locations around the country.
