Pets911.com Launches New Platform for Its Lost and Found Pet Website and Mobile Applications

SCOTTSDALE, AZ, July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - American Pet Owners Association today announced that Pets911 has re-launched its www.pets911.com lost and found pet website and mobile applications.

Established in 1998, Pets911.com has been recognized as the #1 database for lost and found pets throughout North America. For more than a decade partners such as PetsMart, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Kodak, AT&T, Compaq, AZ Central, Maricopa County, SPCA, and many others have all assisted Pets911 in becoming a recognized National brand know for its effort in helping pets find their way home.    Unfortunately, over a year ago the site was wiped out and required a complete rebuild.  Tens of thousands of hours later, the site and its ability to help pet owners has now been completely rebuilt and launched with its core functionality intact, new features added, and many more features to be added monthly.

With a real-time Nationwide lost and found network, pet profiles, pictures of both stray and adoptable pets, local pet listings, pet classified ads, online member chat forums, pet videos, online data storage of vital pet information, GPS locates with use of the Pets911 QR tags, Pets911 Pet Posse "amber alert" style community for lost and found animals, pet news and events, local vet info, local dog parks, local services, tools for shelters, and other important animal welfare information are all available on the site.  Pets911 has also gone mobile with Mobile downloads for Apple and Android applications are also available.

With, approximately 5 million to 7 million companion animals entering animal shelters nationwide every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million euthanized (60 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats), shelter intakes are overwhelmed and every effort needs to be made to reduce these numbers.
