Phaidon Names Philip Ruppel as Chief Operating Officer

NEW YORK, May 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Phaidon Press Ltd., the world's leading publisher and distributor of books and digital products in the creative arts, today announced that information services executive Philip Ruppel has joined the company as its Chief Operating Officer.

Ruppel, with his experience in both business and consumer-directed global markets, is known for his deep understanding of print, digital, and technology convergence.  Most recently as President of McGraw-Hill Education's Professional Division, he led the successful digital transformation strategy for the company's global franchise.  Under his leadership, the digital enterprise experienced significant worldwide growth and expansion.

Ruppel holds a B.A. in Art History from Hamilton College. He will be based in Phaidon's New York office. The company also has offices in London, Berlin, Madrid, Milan, Paris, and Tokyo, with worldwide distribution.
