PharmCAP® and InfiniTrak Announce Partnership to Provide Full Compliance for Newly Enforced FDA Regulations
Leading Provider of Track-and-Trace Software to Partner with Pharmacy Compliance Alert Program
HERNDON, Va., March 15, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Coinciding with the March 1 start of full enforcement of the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), PharmCAP® today announced its partnership with InfiniTrak, the premiere cloud-based software-as-a-service DSCSA compliance solution.
PharmCAP® Pharmacy Regulatory & Compliance Director Luke Gordon noted that "Since 2008, PharmCAP® has helped independent pharmacists easily and efficiently navigate the increasingly complex and changing compliance and credentialing environment. We're very pleased to offer our members a top-notch track and trace solution in our commitment to being the compliance authority for independent pharmacies now and in the future."
InfiniTrak President Mark Tate noted that "InfiniTrak is excited to be working with PharmCAP® to offer their members a comprehensive, cost-effective solution to the complex compliance issues posed by DSCSA. Our philosophy has always been to put the needs of the independent pharmacist first, and in working with PharmCAP®, we are connecting directly with our intended customer." InfiniTrak is also working with State Pharmacy Associations and other pharmacy services administration organizations (PSAOs) nationwide to exclusively provide access to its software as a benefit of membership.
The Drug Supply Chain Security Act, passed by Congress in 2013 and effective in January of 2015, is being implemented by the Food and Drug Administration. It outlines critical steps to verify drug supply chain trading partners, purchasing data and product quality. One of the law's primary goals is to create a nationwide electronic, interoperable system to identify and trace certain prescription drugs. After delaying enforcement of these regulations twice, the FDA began official enforcement March 1, 2016.
InfiniTrak has been at the forefront of the new FDA regulations, spearheading efforts in both education and outreach, helping those affected by these new regulations to understand the key requirements of the DSCSA's implementation, and providing a cutting-edge software solution.
InfiniTrak is a cloud-based software-as-a-service, comprehensive compliance solution for aggregation and verification of track-and-trace data regarding the current and past locations of pharmaceutical products. The company, also named InfiniTrak, is headquartered in Herndon, VA. For a demonstration or more information, please contact Sally Flynn (703 788-6894) or [email protected].
