Philadelphia Federation of Teachers Victorious in Supreme Court
PHILADELPHIA, June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court entered an Order dismissing all of the actions filed by the District which sought to remove the lay-off case from the jurisdiction of the Court of Common Pleas. The Order vacates the Single Justice Order which stayed the June 13, 2011 Common Pleas matter.
In vacating that Stay, and dismissing all of the proceedings before the Supreme Court, there are now no obstacles to the scheduling of a Preliminary Injunction Hearing before Judge Idee Fox of the Court of Common Pleas.
President Jerry Jordan stated that he was, "Gratified that the matter will be heard in the Court of Common Pleas."

Petitioners' Emergency Application for Extraordinary Relief, Ancillary Action for Declaratory Relief, Motion to Expedite All Proceedings, and Application for Stay of Order and Any Further Proceedings in the Court of Common Pleas is DENIED.
