Philadelphia Non-Custodial Parent Program Reaches $10 Million Milestone
DEARBORN, Mich., June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Philadelphia Non-Custodial Parent (NCP) program, operated in partnership between the Pennsylvania Bureau of Child Support Enforcement, Philadelphia Family Court Networking for Jobs program and Educational Data Systems, Inc. (EDSI), recently reached the prestigious $10 million milestone in child support wage attachment collections. Through the collective NCP program, EDSI provides employment services to low income, non-custodial parents, which has resulted in job placements with self-sufficient wages, job retention and assistance in the reunification of the parents with their children.
Paul Bennett, Coordinator of the Networking for Jobs Program, Philadelphia Family Court, says, "The Networking for Jobs Program was created to help unemployed non-custodial parents find and keep full-time employment. The teamwork expressed by the dedication of the Networking for Jobs Program, Pennsylvania Bureau of Child Support Enforcement, EDSI and the Philadelphia Family Court has enabled us to reach the milestone achievement of collecting more than $10.5 million in child support. This is truly a remarkable accomplishment for the families of Philadelphia."
EDSI currently operates other successful NCP programs in cooperation with the Family Courts and Child Support Enforcement agencies in Pittsburgh, Montgomery County and Delaware County, PA; Prince George's County, Maryland; and Washington, D.C. The Pennsylvania NCP program has been recognized by the Administration of Children and Families (ACF), and EDSI was recently asked to present at the White House Annex about its successful NCP programs. EDSI, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Child Support Enforcement and Philadelphia Family Court Networking for Jobs program, designed and implemented the successful Non-Custodial Parent Employment Program in Pennsylvania.
