RIVERSIDE, Calif., May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Now in its 24th year of leading national and international Christian revivals, Harvest Crusades with Pastor Greg Laurie has selected Philadelphia as the host city for its largest U.S. event to date, signifying that this crusade comes at a time when the U.S. once again finds itself at a historic crossroads.

The live Harvest America event will be held in Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28 and 29, while thousands of other locations around the country will participate via satellite and live-streaming, uniting the nation and bringing it to its birthplace for a time of reflection and renewal.  Top Christian recording artists MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, NeedtoBreathe, Kirk Franklin and LeCrae will perform, warming the crowds up for a transformative message by Laurie.

"With all that is going on in our country right now, people are searching for answers. Many feel helpless, but they should never feel hopeless," Laurie said. "It's been said man can live 40 days without food, about 3 days without water, about 8 minutes without air, but only for one second without hope. I believe Jesus Christ can bring us that hope and the answers we are all looking for. That's what I want to talk about."

Since beginning Harvest Crusades in Orange County in 1990, Laurie has preached to more than 4.7 million individuals and has seen nearly 400,000 make a faith decision. Laurie began broadcasting his Harvest Crusades online as early as 1997 and has seen 1.4 million individuals tune in via their computers.

Last year's inaugural Harvest America was based out of Angel Stadium of Anaheim, and saw more than 200,000 individuals participate in 2,400 locations around the country, in addition to 106,000 in person and online, making it one of the largest evangelistic events in U.S. history.

Through HD-quality video available through Internet streaming and satellite, the entire event, will be transmitted from the arena in Philadelphia to hundreds of host sites across the U.S., including churches, gyms, theaters, businesses, and living rooms.
