Phoenix Investment Adviser Adds to Team as Firm Assets Expand

NEW YORK, Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Phoenix Investment Adviser is pleased to announce it has named Dixon Yee as Trader and Senior Research Analyst for the firm. Mr. Yee brings with him more than 20 years of experience trading in high-yield and distressed debt markets. In this newly created role, Mr. Yee will help oversee day-to-day management of the firm's JLP Institutional Credit Fund, which was recently seeded with $40 million by a large European financial institution.  

Phoenix, a private investment firm specializing in deeply discounted, cash-paying bonds, manages more than $500 million and has raised close to $200 million in the last 10 months. Mr. Yee's appointment underscores the growing number of investment opportunities Phoenix sees in the corporate debt market, as well as recent interest among institutional investors for the firm's strategy. Mr. Yee will report to Phoenix's founder and CIO, Jeffrey Peskind.

Mr. Yee was most recently a portfolio manager at Basso Capital Management and previously worked alongside Mr. Peskind at Banc of America Securities managing proprietary capital and trading high yield bonds for their dealer desk. Prior to that, he worked as an analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston, Chase Securities and Oppenheimer & Co. He holds an MBA from Dartmouth College and a bachelor's degree in economics from The University of Pennsylvania.

Phoenix also announced that Erin Hubbard has been named Senior Associate of Business Development and Investor Relations for the firm. Ms. Hubbard brings with her more than eight years of experience in business development and marketing. She will help grow Phoenix's client base and build on the firm's commitment to transparency, integrity and partnership with investors. She holds an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business and a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. Ms. Hubbard will report to Phoenix's president, Michael Donoghue.
