Pier 1 To-Go Eliminates Black Friday Stress While Delivering Savings

FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pier 1 Imports® is helping consumers save time and reduce stress associated with Black Friday shopping by encouraging the use of Pier 1 To-Go, an online shopping process at www.pier1.com that allows customers to select and reserve items online for pick-up from their favorite Pier 1 store when convenient. Consumers will be able to see special Pier 1 pricing online starting Thursday, November 24, select the merchandise they want, including ornaments, fun stocking stuffers, scarves and hats, pillows and throws, home holiday decorations, fragrant candles, chairs, tables and more. They can then place their selected items on hold at their local Pier 1 store for payment and pick-up when convenient between Friday, November 25 and Sunday, November 27.

Pier 1 Imports launched its Pier 1 To-Go site-to-store online shopping experience in June 2011 as a simple way to reserve and quickly pick-up merchandise at a store.  Functionally, Pier 1 To-Go is easy to use and requires no downloads.  Shoppers start by selecting items from Pier 1's full product assortment at www.pier1.com and placing them in their online basket.

Once the items are in the online basket, the next step is to locate the Pier 1 store most convenient and ensure the items are in stock. Then it is simply a matter of placing the order and the items will be reserved for pick-up.  An email confirming order details will provide the store location and phone number and the time the order will be ready.  All that's left is to pick-up and pay for the ordered items when most convenient during regular store hours. 

Flexibility in selecting which of the more than 1,000 Pier 1 Imports stores nationwide where items may be reserved means greater convenience for busy travel schedules and significant cost savings on shipping expenses. Pier 1 To-Go is also available via the Pier 1 mobile website, making it ideal for shopping on-the-go, whether on Thanksgiving Day, while waiting in lines on Black Friday or at any time during the holiday season.
