NASHUA, N.H., Feb. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ping4 Inc., the leader in hyperlocal mobile alerts, is pleased to announce that former New Hamsphire Governor John Lynch has joined its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Ping4 Inc. is the creator of the award winning ping4alerts!, a hyperlocal emergency alerts communications platform for smartphones and tablets which goes well beyond conventional public safety alerts systems. Ping4's "geo-location" based hyperlocal alerts instantly notify the populace about highly localized threats to their safety, including approaching tornadoes, hurricanes, CBRNE (chemical, biological, radioactive, nuclear, and explosives) warnings, crimes in progress, missing persons, and countless other emergencies.
"Governor Lynch's leadership and executive talents are exceptional," said Ping4 Inc. CEO, Jim Bender. "As he has proven in both the public and private sector. He understands corporate governance, and his honesty and integrity are unquestioned. He also has first hand experience with emergency management. We are fortunate to have him join us."
"I'm excited to join the Ping4 Inc. team," said Governor John Lynch. "One of Ping4 Inc.'s core philosophies is that doing good for the world is good for business. The ping4alerts! platform is a tremendous advancement for the public safety market. The company is poised for both domestic and international expansion and, through public private partnerships, will help keep citizens safe and informed across the globe. The future of disaster management is in getting life saving information into the hands of the public in real-time."
Lynch, the 80th Governor of New Hampshire, was first elected in 2004 and easily re-elected to three additional terms, winning a historic fourth term in 2010. Lynch did not seek a fifth term in 2012. During his business career, Lynch served as Director of Admissions at Harvard Business School and President of The Lynch Group, a business consulting firm in Manchester, New Hampshire. As CEO of Knoll Inc., a national furniture manufacturer, Governor Lynch took a company that was losing $50 million a year, and transformed it into a company showing annual profits of nearly $240 million. Before announcing his run for Governor, Lynch was serving as Chairman of the University System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees. During his terms in office, Governor Lynch was one of the most popular governors in the United States. He is widely respected by his peers on both sides of the aisle.
"Governor Lynch is an executive of extraordinary capability. His unique attributes and extensive corporate and public sector experience will make him a superb director," Jim bender added.
Ping4alerts! is a hyperlocal emergency alerts communications platform for smart devices that goes well beyond conventional messaging capabilities. Ping4alerts! provides highly localized, rich-media, hyperlocal alerts regarding geographically relevant dangers and emergencies that are in close proximity to smartphones and tablets that have downloaded the app, wherever they may be at any given moment. It is a free mobile alerts app to the public for iPhone and Android mobile devices. Ping4alerts! provides any combination of text, audio files, photos or videos, and the alerts are bi-directional, enabling those receiving alerts to report back to the alerting authorities.
This patent pending hyperlocal smartphone alert technology can target an area as small as a building or as large as a state or continent by drawing a geofence around affected areas. The app collects no personal information from its users so anonymous tips remain completely anonymous. It enables local authorities to reach temporary visitors to their jurisdiction whom they know nothing about. Ping4alerts! wakes up a smartphone in the middle of the night and plays audible alerts.
Ping4alerts! has been deployed by several state emergency management agencies, police departments and educational institutions in the United States including Manchester, NH, Hampton Beach, NH, Blackstone, MA, Littleton, CO, the University of NH, and the Mass Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). It also provides alerts, advisories and warnings from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Weather Service and other Federal and local authorities
"We continue to make great strides in the area of emergency management and emergency communications," Bender said. "With $4 million in private investment and the addition of Governor Lynch to our board, Ping4 Inc. is increasingly well positioned for success."
