Pinup Prom: Pinup Girl Clothing Celebrates 15 Years Making Women Look and Feel Beautiful

BURBANK, Calif., Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The tulle was out, the heels were high, and there was celebration in the air. On July 25, 2014, Pinup Girl Boutique, the flagship retail store of the vintage-inspired apparel company Pinup Girl Clothing, celebrated its two year anniversary with a spectacular gold tinsel, 50's prom-themed event. This anniversary coincides with this American brand's 15 years of specializing in the highest quality vintage-inspired apparel, shoes, and accessories all under the ethos, Couture for Every Body.

Fans lined up hours before in front of the store's now-famous showcase-style windows in the heart of Magnolia Park. Greeted by a rolled-out pink carpet and Paper Moon Prom Photo op, "Pinup Girl" Yearbooks featuring black & white collages of the staff's favorite moments throughout the past 15 years were passed out while guests entered. The Boutique itself was transformed into a glittering retro high school prom venue with their "school colors" of black and pink proudly displayed throughout.  Guests enjoyed a storewide sale along with music, tiki drinks, champagne.

Internationally-acclaimed alt model and Pinup Girl Spokesmodel Masuimi Max (iamtrouble.com) heated things up further with a memorable burlesque performance. Swamp hop singer Ivy Levan (ivylevan.com) rocked the house down with her powerful vocals and energetic presence.

The stars of the evening were the 15 winners of the #pugchangedmylife contest held on Pinup Girl Clothing's Instagram (@pinupgirlclothing). Sharing their personal before-and-after stories detailing how the brand changed and empowered their lives with Pinup Girl's 100,000+ Instagram followers, their stories and photos lined the art gallery section of the boutique. The Grand Prize winner of the contest and special guest of honor, Allie Kent, was in attendance with her beautiful photo by photographer Holly West under a shining spotlight.

Finishing off the night was the announcement of the Pinup Girl Prom Queen. The Court was decided by a raffle with 100% of the proceeds going to the Los Angeles Downtown Women Center.  CEO, Founder, and Supreme Overlord Laura Byrnes, who was joined by her daughter Milena Byrnes-Flores, Assistant Designer Micheline Pitt, Boutique Store Manager Doris Mayday, and Spokesmodel Masuimi Max, awarded three lucky and ecstatic Pinup Girl fans prom sashes, tiaras, and gift certificates from the Boutique as well as their beauty and accessories vendors and Magnolia Park neighbors. 

Many cheers, smiles, and selfies were seen throughout the crowd at the Boutique. As with all Proms, the night came to an end with glitter on the dance floor and new memories to cherish.  After 15 years, Pinup Girl Clothing continues to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes with clothing made for Every Body, and want to thank all of their fans that inspire and drive them every day.
