LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- There is no love more sincere than the love of gumbo. At least that's how Angela Eason, owner of The Best Gumbo in the Hood, (http://www.bestgumbointhehood.com) feels about it.
"Every time I make my gumbo recipe, it fills me with a sense of family and belonging," Eason said. Her Southern roots have been planted firmly in Southern California, and it soon became a life-long passion to make the gumbo just as she remembered it. And now, after years of making gumbo for family and friends, the public- and that includes vegans- can now taste this culinary creation.
Angela's LA gumbo, which she calls the "Best Gumbo in the Hood," will be available Saturday, November 15th, 2014 at the City Club LA at 555 South Flower Street, 51st Floor, in Downtown Los Angeles from 3pm to 6pm. Nearly 50 vendors will be there, featuring specialty boutique treasures that range from beauty to gourmet food-and of course, gumbo. Tickets can be purchased online through The City Club at http://www.clubcorp.com/Clubs/City-Club-Los-Angeles/ or in person on the day of the event.
"We're looking forward to sharing both kinds of our gumbo – not only the more traditional shrimp and chicken variety, but also the vegan version," Eason said.
"Over the past 20 years, I've spent a lot of time perfecting my gumbo," said Chef Eason. "As far as I'm concerned, I've been able to perfect it to the point where I can proudly say – this is the best gumbo you're going to find outside of Louisiana. I look forward to everyone having the chance to enjoy it."
If you aren't able to make it down to the event this weekend, The Best Gumbo in the Hood is for sale at the Downtown Santa Ana Certified Farmer's Market. For more information, please contact Angela Eason at 949-637-8068 or see her story online at http://www.bestgumbointhehood.com.
