PMI Promotes Christopher G. Brunetti and William M. Levinthal to Deputy General Counsel

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The PMI Group, Inc. (NYSE: PMI) today announced that it has promoted Christopher Brunetti and William (Bill) Levinthal to Deputy General Counsel within PMI's legal department.

Mr. Brunetti will continue his work on PMI's corporate and regulatory initiatives and Mr. Levinthal will continue his support of initiatives related to mortgage insurance operations and loss mitigation.  Both Mr. Brunetti and Mr. Levinthal will continue to report to PMI's General Counsel, Andrew Cameron.

Brunetti began his career with PMI in 1999 as Senior Counsel.  In 2004, he was promoted to Vice President, Structured Products and Assistant General Counsel.  Prior to joining PMI, Mr. Brunetti was a Senior Associate in the San Francisco office of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP.  During his tenure there, he practiced corporate, transactional and regulatory law, while representing insurance company clients.  Mr. Brunetti holds an A.B. in Mathematics from Vassar College and a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.  He is also an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS).

Levinthal joined PMI's legal department in 2003 as Senior Counsel.  In 2006, he was promoted to Vice President and Assistant General Counsel.  Levinthal has more than 20 years experience in litigation.  Prior to joining PMI, Mr. Levinthal was an associate at Friedemann Goldberg in Santa Rosa and, before that, at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP, focusing on general commercial litigation with an emphasis on insurance and real estate. Levinthal holds a B.A. from San Francisco State University and a J.D. from University of California Hastings College of the Law, also in San Francisco.
