PITTSBURGH, Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE: PNC), has been named one of the nation's 2011 Working Mother 100 Best Companies. Its tenth year for such distinction, PNC is lauded for its efforts to support working families.
This extends to enhancing existing work/life benefits, introducing a company-wide comprehensive wellness program and expanding employee recognition programs.
"Our goal is to create a work environment where every employee feels valued and supported to achieve both on the job and in their personal lives," said Kathy D'Appolonia, senior vice president and manager of workplace solutions for PNC. "PNC's continued recognition by Working Mother magazine further validates the company's efforts to not only offer, but continuously improve our wide array of work/life programs for employees and their families."
Some enhancements to PNC's programs included:
- Expansion of employee adoption assistance benefits, with an 11 percent increase in financial benefits and double the amount of paid time off.
- An additional investment to provide a $2,000 minimum 401(k) match to employees earning less than $50,000, providing an extra incentive to save in the 401(k).
- The expansion of educational assistance to part-time employees, which was previously reserved for full-time employees only.
"Working Mother is pleased to honor PNC again this year for its commitment to creating a culture of respect and inclusion," said Carol Evans, president of Working Mother Media. "We applaud PNC for their support of working moms and dads."
