Point Capital Partners, LLC (PCP) Announces That Kevin C. O'Connor Has Joined PCP as a Partner
CHATHAM, N.J., Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Point Capital Partners, LLC (PCP) announces that Kevin C. O'Connor has joined PCP as a Partner. He will also serve as a Managing Director of Point Capital Markets (PCM), the wholly-owned broker-dealer subsidiary of PCP. Previously, Mr. O'Connor was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Fixed Income at SecondMarket, a SEC-regulated alternative trading system, registered broker dealer and member of FINRA, MSRB and SIPC.
At PCM, Mr. O'Connor will be the Head of Fixed Income. He will be responsible for developing new lines of business for the broker-dealer, including municipal securities sales, trading and underwriting.
Mr. O'Connor, 45, joined SecondMarket in 2008 from JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he started its Auction-Rate Securities (ARS) trading desk in 2000. While at SecondMarket, Mr. O'Connor was responsible for growing an existing ARS business, which brought holders of these now illiquid securities together with new buyers. His industry expertise, coupled with long standing relationships with ARS market participants (corporations, banks, issuers and hedge funds) helped catapult SecondMarket to be the recognized leader in providing liquidity to ARS holders. Previously, Mr. O'Connor held positions at Citigroup and Deutsche Bank.
"Kevin will play an integral role in the growth of Point Capital Markets," said Theodore Williams, Managing Partner and Founder of PCP. "His experience expands our capabilities, and we are excited Kevin has agreed to join us."
