CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y., March 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- LA County will now continue to offer FIT testing for colorectal cancer screening to its residents. Polymedco, U.S. distributor for OC-Auto®, automated FIT (fecal immunochemical test) system and OC-Light® S FIT manual fecal immunochemical test for colorectal cancer screening, has been awarded a 5 year contract commencing March 2, 2017 for these items. The previous 5 year contract between LA County and Polymedco has resulted in a large testing volume and increased patient screening.
Polymedco's FIT is recommended as a first screen by the United States Preventive Services Task Force.
"LA County has been instrumental in providing screening to its residents with the Polymedco product line over the past five years. We are pleased to be able to assist them in continuing the good work for another five years," said Polymedco Senior Vice President Rick De Alto.
