Pop-up Pub Dedicated to Great British Craft Beer Opens its Doors in September
LONDON, August 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Beer tasting events and education company, The Craft Beer Social Club, is launching a new Pop-up Pub showcasing a vast selection of the 5,500 plus(1) beers brewed in the UK. The Pop-up Pub takes place from Friday 20th September to mid-December in the breakthrough creative and cultural hub of Commercial Road on the City and Shoreditch fringes.
The Pop-up Pub will run every Friday and Saturday for three months and will only feature beers from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. There will be a weekly changing menu of draught and bottled beers including rare, one-off and collaboration brews.
In addition to craft beers, the Pop-up Pub will feature a rota of up and coming London chefs and purveyors of street food tasked with creating imaginative menus that complement the beers and tantalise taste buds. Confirmed street food traders include Little Jack Horner famous for its Squirrel, Beer, Prune and Barley pie; Austrian cuisine specialist Speckmobile; and The Mighty Fork hotdogs with their globally inspired toppings. More chefs and traders will be announced in due course.
For non-beer drinkers, again following the home-grown theme, there will be Rum, Whisky, Vodka and wine from the UK. All soft drinks will be British as well.
The Craft Beer Social Club is also working with booking agent Beatnik Events, whose previous booked acts have included Lianne La Havas, Ed Sheeran support act Kal Lavelle, Stealing Sheep and Fiona Bevan (co-song writer with Ed Sheeran and Number 1 artist in 3 Countries) to produce a live entertainment schedule of the hottest new singers and bands for the duration of the Pop-up Pub.
The exclusive 130 capacity venue, to be occupied by The Craft Beer Social Club, has previously only been available for private functions, but will be opening up to the public for the first time for the three month Pop-up Pub. Featuring a roof terrace, a pool table, darts board and a Wii, the venue is set up to provide a fun environment for guests to enjoy craft beers from around the UK.
The Craft Beer Social Club will also be running a series of beer tasting events at the Pop-up Pub for anyone that would like to be further educated on beers, beer styles, beer history and how to taste beer.
Commenting on the Pop-up Pub, founder Justina Cruickshank said: "At The Craft Beer Social Club, we're proud to drink British, so we cannot wait to share the great craftsmanship of our country's small and independent brewers at our Pop-up Pub in an exciting environment that also celebrates Great British talent in food and music."
The Craft Beer Social Club Pop-up Pub launches on Friday 20th September and runs every Friday and Saturday until mid-December at The Craft Beer Social Club, 255 Commercial Rd, London E1 2BT.
