Popper and Company Announces Stephanie Kreml, M.D., As Newest Team Member

BALTIMORE and AUSTIN, Texas, April 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Popper and Company, an M&A advisory and specialty consulting firm to the life sciences industry, announced today that Stephanie Kreml, M.D. has returned to the firm as Principal. Dr. Kreml, who previously worked at Popper and Company from 2008 to 2010, has a broad career spanning clinical research, product engineering, medical technologies, and commercialization strategy roles.

In her role as Principal, Dr. Kreml will develop and implement business strategy for start-up companies and new business units in existing companies; consult in areas of clinical need, commercialization, and technology assessment; perform due diligence for investment and acquisition targets in the life science industry; critically evaluate unmet clinical needs and technologies; and provide guidance to accelerate new production development activities.

From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Kreml held the positions of Associate Medical Director and Center Medical Director at Concentra in Austin, Texas, and she continues to practice as a staff physician part-time. Prior to medical school, she held engineering positions with Motorola and Texas Instruments.

Dr. Kreml received her Doctor of Medicine from the Baylor College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. During her residency in general surgery, she was a research fellow at Baylor College of Medicine's Human Genome Sequencing Center and in the Mechatronics and Haptic Interfaces Lab at Rice University.
