Popular Wedding and Honeymoon Destination Launches Nationwide Search to Crown Mr. and Mrs. Gatlinburg

GATLINBURG, Tenn., Feb. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Smoky Mountain destination of Gatlinburg, Tenn. is conducting a nationwide search for one couple to be crowned Mr. and Mrs. Gatlinburg. Young or old, whether you've been married 50 years or five, Gatlinburg wants to hear why you and your Valentine deserve the title of Mr. & Mrs. Gatlinburg.

"In Gatlinburg, you've never been closer," said Jim Davis, Public Relations Coordinator for the Gatlinburg Department of Tourism. "It is the perfect place for couples to celebrate their marriage, share new experiences and relive old memories with loved ones. Whatever their romantic ties to Gatlinburg may be, we want to find a couple with a great experience to share."

Contestants are invited to submit their romantic Gatlinburg stories online and share why they should be crowned the ultimate Gatlinburg couple. The grand prize, valued at more than $1,700, is a trip back to Gatlinburg to share new experiences and relive old memories with that special someone.  All past visitors are eligible.

"Perhaps you got married in Gatlinburg 30 years ago and return every year," said Davis. "Or maybe you met your spouse in Gatlinburg or got engaged at one of our attractions.  Ultimately, America will choose the winner through online voting."

Online entry forms will be available beginning on Valentine's Day. Entries can be submitted through mid-March.  The top five finalists will be posted on Gatlinburg's Facebook page and America will vote for their favorite couple. The winner will be crowned Mr. and Mrs. Gatlinburg this April. To enter, contestants can visit www.facebook.com/gatlinburgtn.
