The Barley+ Toasted Muesli and Snack Bar range is the only product available in the U.S. featuring the superior Australian wholegrain, BARLEYmax™, which has been studied for over three decades by the country's leading research organisation, CSIRO.
Less than a third of U.S. adults eat the recommended 3-ounce servings of grain foods a day. Barley+ makes it easy to achieve the recommended amount, as just one serving of Barley+ Toasted Muesli delivers almost 2-ounce equivalents of wholegrains, nearly two-thirds of the recommended daily intake. In addition, an independent consumer research study commissioned by Freedom Foods Group noted statistically significant reductions in body weight, body fat and body mass index (BMI), and decreased feelings of anger when test subjects committed to a 28-day Barley+ Nutrition and Lifestyle Reboot Program; a by-product of good nutrition and lifestyle. Australian Super Grain Benefits
The secret behind the superior barley wholegrain is its unique mix and increased quantities of fiber compared to other wholegrains. It delivers significantly more of the three types of important fiber together in one grain. This consists of insoluble fiber, sometimes referred to as 'roughage', as well as resistant starch which acts a little like fiber, and soluble fiber that U.S. diets fall seriously short in. The latter two demonstrate prebiotic activity; i.e. they offer premium 'food' for the good bacteria already living in the gut.
Arguably, prebiotics are just as important, if not more important than probiotics, as they encourage the growth of the good bugs existing in the gut.
