In this newly created position, Carney's responsibility includes driving revenue generation for all offices and ramping efforts to support PostRelease's rapidly growing business.
Carney brings more than 15 years of comprehensive experience in digital media, advertising and sales to PostRelease. An expert in sales management and team leadership, Carney has managed cross-functional teams – marketing, product and business development, and technical – to achieve ad sales objectives and create new advertising opportunities and solutions. Carney has also worked with some of the largest automotive, beverage, technology and entertainment companies, including: Honda, Toyota, Hyundai Motors, Miller-Coors, Disney, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Microsoft, Mattel and Las Vegas Tourism (LVCVA). Additionally, he is an advisory board member to multiple startup companies and provides consulting services for businesses including Rhapsody International.
Most recently Carney served as general manager/vice president Advertising Sales and Operation at RealNetworks, Inc., where he staffed and trained national sales and operations teams, and executed integrated sales and marketing efforts with international divisions. During his tenure at RealNetworks, Carney also served as Director, Advertising Sales and National Accounts Manager where his team was recognized as top producing region for the company. Carney also served as a sales manager at CMP Media where he worked for Computer Reseller News, and helped develop product and lead sales for the first internet media sales team for ChannelWEB. He was also a sales manager at Ziff Davis Publishing, where he vended advertising for PC Computing Magazine.
