PPG Porter® Paints Launches Louisville Color Collection
Local landscapes and horseracing traditions inspire hues to bring area's beauty indoors
LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PPG Porter® Paints launched the Louisville Color Collection, a new palette of 75 colors representing the unparalleled shades of Louisville's landscapes and horse racing traditions. The palette -- heavily saturated with timeless, soft tones -- captures the rich, historical uniqueness of the area, allowing homeowners to bring the colors of the landscapes and surroundings into their homes.
"From the thundering hooves at historic Churchill Downs to the radiance of fireworks over the scenic Ohio River skyline, Louisville is a city built on tradition," said Steve Shorthouse, PPG Porter Paints color marketing manager. "The Louisville Color Collection encompasses the story of Louisville as a community, allowing the traditional colors of the area and Mother Nature to move from the outside right onto the walls."
The Louisville color collection brings to life the incredible shades of springtime at legendary racetracks and downtown area. Named after local landmarks, events and traditions exclusive to the area, every color in the palette has a story, ranging from the racing inspired coral red "Derby Hat" and earth-toned green "Equestrian" to bright, lively cityscape themed golden yellow "Louisville Skyline."
"The palette incorporates soft yellows and golds with a mix of other antique hues to create a collection of colors familiar to the Louisville area," said Tracy Burbrink, PPG Porter Paints color consultant and contributor to the palette. "The colors in this collection are recognizable to Louisville residents and allow homeowners to bring the inspiring shades that make the area so special into their homes."
The Louisville color collection is part of PPG Porter Paints Voice of Color Program and is available at PPG Porter Paints stores. Along with the Louisville Color Collection, PPG Porter Paints stores in the Louisville area offer one-hour, in-home color consultations by PPG Porter Paints certified interior designers for $50. With this offer, homeowners also receive a $50 gift certificate for free paint.
