AUSTIN, Texas, March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pragma Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-class remote access and security software for servers and mobile devices, announces that Pragma FortressSSH Server and Client is now listed on the Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL) and passed the U.S. Army Technology Integration Center's strenuous testing requirements and rigorous standards. FortressSSH is a secure shell product for Windows which allows customers secure remote access and high-performance managed file transfer using the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and Secure Copy (SCP) protocols.
The UC APL maintains a single consolidated list of products that have completed Interoperability (IO) and Information Assurance (IA) certification. Usage of the DoD UC APL allows various departments to purchase and operate secure communications over all DoD network infrastructures. The UC APL guarantees government agencies access to products that have the highest security and data encryption protection standards to protect the integrity of data traffic traveling across their infrastructure.
The U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command's Technology Integration Center (USAISEC TIC) is a state-of-the art testing facility that evaluates commercial, off-the-shelf Internet technology products including communications, computer, network and security products in support of Army, joint customers and program managers. TIC ensures that components of hardware and software that will be used across U.S. Army's networks are held to the highest security and encryption standards possible. Pragma Systems' FortressSSH Server and Client has been evaluated by the U.S. Army's Technology Integration Center and found to meet all applicable requirements.
"Interoperability is a growing need for Windows success and I am delighted to see Pragma's SSH, SFTP and SCP servers and clients for Windows attain FIPS certification and U.S. Gov't Approved Product List status," stated Otto Helweg, Microsoft Principal Program Manager. "Microsoft is pleased to work with Pragma Systems, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, for enhancing the capabilities of Windows Server in heterogeneous data centers."
"Patriot Technologies is excited Pragma has completed testing for their leading SSH/SCP solution and passed U.S. Army TIC Certification to be placed on the Approved Product List of U.S. Department of Defense," said Bruce Tucker, President and Founder of Patriot Technologies. "This is a major achievement for any company and now allows Pragma SSH/SCP to be used in many U.S. government and defense services installations. It's critical to Patriot that the security solutions we recommend to our clients are market-leading technologies that meet their specific criteria. Our DoD customers now have a SSH/SCP solution that has completed interoperability and information assurance certification."
"It has been a long road to get to these major milestones for the company. Pragma's SSH Server now has its own FIPS certification, TIC approval and is on the DoD APL, a feat no SSH vendor has accomplished before," said David Kulwin, CTO of Pragma Systems. "It clearly positions Pragma SSH as the unquestioned market leader in the secure communications space."
By using Pragma's SSH/SFTP/SCP Servers and Clients, which embed its certified cryptographic modules, customers can copy, deploy and manage files securely from Windows machines to Cisco routers, network switches, Unix servers, Linux servers and Mainframes using SFTP and SCP. Pragma's Server uses patent-pending technology to deliver Windows command sessions to remote clients efficiently, securely and reliably.
